Good GENERAL test guidance throughout, with handy formula to tie you back into the theory of what is actually happening. Although there are some of Joe Carr's books I don't like, this is one I definately do and highly recommend for anyone involved in the testing of RF devices, especially those which have to test and work with a diverse product set.For more in depth circuit analysis, see Chris Bowicks "RF Circuit Design" or for more basic info, check out Jon Hagen's "RF Electronics". If you need PCB guidance, head over to Tim Williams "The Circuit Designers Companion" and if you need more magnetic or HAM type info definately get Jerry Sevicks "Transmission Line Transformers".

I had never seen one offered before that but today you can buy a real operating and service original manual for$103 and $350 plus shipping on Ebay. The important things to know is why you are "there" with the tool and what the worst that can happen might be.Nobody I know has a perfect record of going to the problem and finding the cause as by looking at the effect without making a mistake.This book gets a little hairy with the math but it is necessary if you want to know how you measure some things.You can measure propagation of a transmitting antenna with a 40 watt fluorescent lamp and a lot of room or you can do the math.Knowing a little generally cuts the investigative time.by days. Some of us learned the hard way of what works and what will not.With antennas for instance getting the voltage and current where you want it and achieving the radiation angle to get the energy directed to where you want it to go or come from, can be done by math or you can play with it until you know you have it right.I developed a 39 inch 28.5 mc mobile antenna by testing math perfect antennas of various lengths against each other until I found the correct angle to enter the ether and get my 10 meter transmissions anywhere on the planet when a path was available using only 5 watts of upper sideband power. You cannot do this with a kilowatt if the radiation angle is grossly wrong. My tools were a Heath dual wattmeter and a year of my time. Math might have made this more easy but generally I dislike a function where I do not ever get exactly what I want and is incapable of showing progress. A / B comparison tests are where you learn that no two electric elements are born equal. I have never seen a Joe Carr book that was anything less than very good. This one is excellent. About the Author

Frederick J Gravetter is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at The College at Brockport, State University of New York. While teaching at Brockport, he specialized in statistics, research design, and cognitive psychology. Dr. Gravetter received his Bachelor's degree in mathematics from M.I.T. and his Ph.D. in psychology from Duke University. This is an excellent textbook!!! I used this book for my initial review of research methods and statistics in preparation for my doctoral comprehensive exam. (I passed on my first attempt!) Gravetter & Forzano present the information in a logical format and introduce statistical concepts in connection with steps in the research process – as other authors should. I have read texts on research methods and on statistics for undergraduate and graduate level courses in the disciplines of political science, health science, communications, and social work – Research Methods for the Behavioral Sciences is the best work for a student's introductory text or as a first rate text for graduate student review. I highly recommend this book!

I've taught this book for 7 years. It is an excellent, no nonense, comprehensive summary of basic quantitative research methods and design. Written for undergrads, it contains the fundamentals of research design that most grad students still have not mastered. Highly recommended.

Purchased this book for a college course needed and found this book to be very helpful as a follow up from Stats. This text,however, is based upon using statistics for completing research methods using calculations based upon probability and theories for Psychological research and theoretical testing. Glad I took a Statistics class prior to taking this course as I probably would not have understood the theory behind the formulas for Stats used in this text. It was a great book, and I recommend this text for Psychological Stats classes for all colleges. As for the seller, awesome... book arrived on time and was in the exact condition as stated.

I got an instructors edition :( Seller states you run the risk of getting either student or instructor, I decided to gamble, and lost hehe. Good price for book however, and at the end of the day, its still the same book. (just extras) Would buy again.

The best textbook I've used. Very easy to read and understand, plus very informative!

This text book was purchased as used and is actually in almost new condition. There was very little highlighting or writing in the text, but the outside had "LAB COPY" written on it several times and a sheet of paper was glued to the back cover. If you don't judge the book by the cover (pun intended), then it's a good book at a good price.

Book was in excellent condition. Price was right and shipping was fast. Thank you!

Purchased for a psychology course, school starts in September. Book superficially looks well organized.
